You have a 24" Sink Base and you want to choose the best possible option? It's easy....well not easy for some but for us sink experts, we know how to tell them all apart. Lets begin by comparing sizes, which is usually the most important factor when it comes to purchasing a new kitchen sink.
Inside Bowl Dimensions
Wells CMU2318-9: 21" x 15.75" x 9"
Dawn ASU2316: 23" x 16 1/8" x 10"
Now don't let the similarities fool you, every inch matters! Dawn's ASU2316 comes in with an extra 2" in length and en extra inch in depth over the Wells Sinkware CMU2318-9. Bigger is always better, but at what cost? The difference between the two sink comes to $123.40, with Dawns ASU2316 being more expensive. You have to consider if it's worth paying $123.40 for en extra couple of inches. If you choose to listen to the sink experts at DirectSinks, we would highly recommend spending the extra money for more inches. But WAIT! There are more differences between the sinks besides the size of the sink bowl. Don't forget to consider the the other qualities every sink should have, such as; material, finish, sound absorbent padding, available accessories, and the brand name.
When comparing the Dawn ASU2316 and the Wells CMU2318-9 next to each other, you'll see a big difference in the finish. Both finishes are of good quality, the difference exists since they re manufactured in different manufacturers. The Dawn ASU2316 is formed with 18 gauge 304 type stainless steel reinforced with a satin polished finish and sound absorption pads to ensure durability, hygiene and longevity. In our opinion, the finish is a bit nicer than the Wells CMU2318-9 because it has more of a polished shine to it which can make your sink pop instead of just blending in with your countertop. Dawn Kitchen & Bath Products brand image is mostly known for their unique sinks and their polished satin finish, not to mention the 'Dawn' imprint on the inside of all of their sinks which gives their brand a nice touch. Especially if your name is Dawn, then it's a no brainer which sink to choose ;) -- I can't tell you how many Dawns have walked into our showroom and instantly fell in love.

We've determined that it you're stuck between these two sinks, you're better of with choosing Dawn's ASU2316. The reason is mainly because of the difference in dimensions, if you can afford it we always recommend spending the extra money to get a larger sink. My favorite dimension difference is the depth of the sink, the ASU2316 gives you an extra inch of depth over the CMU2318-9 which gives you more room to work with when doing dishes. The finish also beats Well's CMU2318-9 -- the polished satin will match beautifully with a brushed nickel faucet.
