SILGRANIT is a patented granite composite material made of up to 80% natural granite. This finely ground granite is blended with a high-quality source of acrylic. This superior grade acrylic is made in-house under careful supervision and is blended with specially selected pigments which colors the material all the way through. The durability of SILGRANIT is the direct result of precise, strict protocols used during every step of production.

SILGRANIT is extremely durable and can withstand heat from boiling water, hot pots off the stove and sheet pans straight from the oven. If you drop a knife or metal utensil into your sink and it leaves a mark, don’t worry. The metal has actually worn off onto the sink’s surface. All you need to remove the mark is some mild detergent or oil and a soft scrubbing sponge.

The surface of SILGRANIT is repellant and will not absorb liquids. It is not the same as a solid piece of natural granite stone used for countertops - these are porous and need to be sealed.


Cleaning and Maintenance for BLANCO SILGRANIT

Regular cleaning is the best form of maintenance for your sink and will extend its life and beauty for years to come! As an industry leader in granite composite sinks, BLANCO has spent over 30 years perfecting SILGRANIT sinks. This material is ideal for anyone wanting to implement greener cleaning practices at home – no harsh chemicals needed - mild cleaners like baking soda and dish soap will do the trick.


For Daily Cleaning For Weekly Cleaning
  • Wet and squeeze some dish soap onto the soft side of a sponge.
  • Wipe the Silgranit surface in small, circular motions.
  • Rinse with clean water and dry with a microfiber cloth.
  • Pour BLANCOCLEAN DAILY+ directly onto the sink and let sit for 1-2 minutes to take effect.
  • Wear a glove and wipe with a wet cloth or soft side of a sponge in the small, circular motions.
  • Rinse with clean water and dry with a microfiber cloth.

    • BLANCO recommends deep cleaning your Silgranit sink once or twice a year with a mild liquid/gel laundry detergent.

  • Close the sink drain and distribute the liquid/gel laundry detergent evenly onto the sink surface.
  • Fill the sink with hot water (heated up to 60°C / 140°F).
  • Leave it to work at least 2 hours or ideally overnight.
  • Drain the solution, rinse with clean water and dry with a microfiber cloth.

    • SILGRANIT sinks are very durable and scuff marks caused by pots, pans and knives can be easily removed. Use a mild abrasive cleanser or baking soda and combine with water on the soft side of a sponge. Wipe in a circular motion to remove most stains and scuff marks leftover from pots and pans. Keep applying baking soda and water as needed while softly scrubbing to lift the scuff mark.

    Stubborn stains can be removed by pouring a little warm vinegar or vinegar-based cleaner into the sink and allowing it to sit for a few minutes. Rinse with clean water and dry.
    Depending on the severity of the food stain, use an equal-parts bleach water solution or dishwater tablet. Allow the solution to sit for an hour and then wipe clean and dry.

    DO NOT use strong abrasive cleaners, metal scrub pads or steel wool. These will scratch and dull the surface of the sink.
    DO NOT pour paint in your sink. The chemicals in acrylic paint will react with SILGRANIT sinks if allowed to sit over 24 hours and will produce permanent marks.
