CELEBRATING ALL THINGS AMERICAN

President's Day was first started in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington. In fact, it is still officially called "Washington's Birthday" by federal government.  It was originally celebrated on February 22, President Washington's actual birthday.  However in 1971, The Uniform Monday Holiday Act moved the celebration to the third Monday of February, in efforts to create more three day weekends for the nation's workers.   Today, President's day is used to celebrate all presidents past and present.  [To read more about the history of the holiday, click here].

Like Independence Day, President's Day is traditionally viewed as a time for patriotic celebration and remembrance. HOUZZ did just that.  In celebrating "All Things American," HOUZZ created an Ideabook highlighting distinct styles, furnishings and accessories that honor the American culture.  Shop Houzz: Born in the USA >>

Of course our favorite featured products were by Native Trails. Two of their Americana vanities were featured within this HOUZZ ideabook.

The Americana collection by Native Trails is handcrafted bathroom furniture, with distinct character as rich as American history. Each piece is made by an American artisan from reclaimed barn wood. These strong heirloom pieces lend soulful presence and are complemented with hand forged iron hardware. They are truly built to last for generations. But don't believe me.  See for yourself.

This collection is available in widths of 24", 30" & 36".  And their are four different finishes to choose from:  Chestnut, Whitewash (shown above, right). Anvil (shown above, left), and Driftwood. To complete the look, Native Trails offers us matching mirrors, hutches, cubbies and cabinets in the same collection & finishes!

Imagine the statement your bathroom would make when you pair one of these great American vanities with a natural cooper sink!

Pure American Perfection!
